Welcome to the TMLA website - and to a whole new approach
to Master's degrees for practitioners of MFL (Modern Foreign
Languages) and teachers of EFL/ESL (English as a Foreign/Second
Language). In May 2004, in recognition of its ground-breaking
nature, it was one of two courses distinguished with the
Honorary Graduates' Award
for Innovative Teaching, a distinction awarded
annually by the University of Dundee for the most innovative
teaching programme(s) across all of its faculties and departments.
Building
on the success of past years, our part-time distance learning
degree is now delivered in an online Virtual Learning Environment.
Students may exit with a Certificate, Diploma or full Master’s
degree. During the course, varied modules allow you to explore
a range of cutting-edge issues such as:
e-learning
CMC & linguistic change
intercultural awareness
linguistic colonialism
language ecology
cultural clashes |
discourse and power
discourse and gender
post-method teaching
multiliteracies
learner empowerment
peer response |
