HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

The purpose of the Summer School is to talk. Students are expected to do most of the talking and be willing to converse about a variety of subject matters. Students are trained to take the initiative in the conversation, avoid a monologue or speech where there is no rapport or conversation, and prepare their ideas in advance so that they can have a lively conversation with others.

Students will take the role of town planner and the government to build their own towns. They will also work hand in hand to detail their transport system, restaurants, police & fire stations, supermarkets, and houses to make a dream town that can display their creativity and language power.

The Summer School starts with an half-an-hour opening ceremony, which sets the backdrop by introducing the needs of building an English Town in ten days. The last lesson will be in form of closing ceremony cum an exhibition displaying their talents, creativity, and language proficiency. Students in groups are required to stage a performance introducing their English towns, which are built bit by bit in the first 9 lessons. Parents are invited to the closing ceremony.

English Drama Workshop

 I read, and I forgot.

I saw, and I believed.

I did, and I understood.

This is a 16-hour workshop of new songs, new skills to learn, drama, movement, improvisation and fun, all leading to a short play and a deeper passion in English. Students will experience stages in producing a short play: from storytelling to character design; from improvisation to scriptwriting; and from voice practice to performance on stage. It not only helps build the studentsˇ¦ confidence in speaking English, fine-tune their pronunciation; but trains them to be more expressive as well.
