¡@ ¡@ Learning to Learn English (Lower Secondary / Upper Secondary) This is a project-based course which aims at instilling a sense of reflection into the learning process, equipping students with self-learning strategies and cultivating an interest in learning English through life. Learning does not stop at the door of the school. Practical project work on a topic of their interest provides the perfect excuse for the learners to go out, and use their language. Students have room to experiment with the language, collect authentic texts, which helps build their sensitivity to every self-learning opportunity. 2 projects are to be completed in the course to help students match language learning opportunities to the needs and interests of individual students, and their surroundings and experiences, which are the richest source of authentic language. They once exploit the opportunities in everyday life. They are empowered to search materials and situations in which they may learn effectively. In the project, students are also encouraged to visit places, and to discover the benefits of learning in context on their own. In this way, they will understand the purpose and effectiveness of the self-learning experience that training is intended to enhance. Every student needs to bring along a substantial learners' dictionary, such as the Collins COBUILD, Longman or Oxford Dictionary of English. Students learn how to find out anything that they might want to, in the absence of someone to consult.
